What is the Child Care Benefit and how do I access it?
The Child Care Benefit helps you meet the cost of child care and is paid directly to your child care provider, reducing the fee that you will pay. The amount of assistance you will receive will depend on your income and assets, and how many children you have attending child care. The amount of Child Care Benefit you are entitled to will also depend on whether you and your partner work, or are looking for work, are studying, training or even doing voluntary work. How much does care cost at Torrensville Child & Family Centre?
The fee paid by each family will vary according to the percentage of Child Care Benefit, Child Care Rebate and JET (Jobs, Education & Training )the family is entitled to. An application and approval for Child Care Benefits must be lodged before commencing care.
